Lucid dreaming is a useful and fun skill to develop. But as with any new skill, it’s beneficial to know what to expect sometimes. Fear of anything is usually based on ignorance, and fear is a low-vibrational energy. It works as a warning emotion, but sucks as a coping solution.
I’ve described my Energy Work in Dreams before. This past weekend, I feel I got “bumped a level” (or several, it will require more posts to describe) after working at a holistic fair on Friday. There were several healing practitioners at the fair clearing negative energies and entities for paying customers.
Woo warning! I would describe an entity as a body of energy with its own intelligence. Not usually “seen”, but easily felt by sensitives, entities are usually understood as negative or low in vibration. Some entities can feel the need to latch onto a living host to feed off his or her energy. Symptoms that develop over long periods for the host can include: Extremely negative thinking, constant anger, fear, or depression; feeling “stuck” in life, “jinxed”, and low in physical energy. These may sound generic, but I’ve also run into many people who’ve had to accept the “supernatural” causes of their personal bag of symptoms, after all other possibilities have been explored (including their own emotional issues) . There are a myriad reasons why an entity may want to follow or attach itself onto a person. All this said, you’re free to take this information with a mountain of salt!
(If this makes your hair stand, though, remember this: Entities are pretty much everywhere, you’ve likely just not noticed. You’re an entity too, but in a meat suit. You’re also one-up: You are capable of Love and calling upon your own divinity, or Source. This is a big thing. More at the end of this post.)
That explained, the importance for space-clearing and personal protection is easier to understand in the vicinity of healers pulling entities off human hosts. Some entities may go looking for new targets. All in all, I should have been more “present” at the end of the day to take heed of this while I was leaving the fair, but suffice to say that after going to sleep that night, I had a learning experience!
Typical beginning: On becoming lucid in my dream, I tried to fly. But for once, I couldn’t achieve my usual altitude. I felt heavy–and started falling back to earth. The physical sensations were all there too–not the most fun thing this time. Somehow, I swallowed my heart back down my throat and calmed myself with the knowledge I was dreaming. In that surrender, I only felt regret that I would wake up soon.
But I didn’t.
I was transferred to a green room, still dreaming, and still aware. There was a mirror in front of me, and I saw the reason for my lousy flying: I was carrying extra cargo. A Gollum-like creature was clinging onto my back just behind my right shoulder. It had bluish skin and looked, literally, alien.
“The heck?” I said ever so graciously to my unexpected guest. (Always keepin’ it classy!)
Having my attention, the creature turned on the charm. It was already half-naked, and became more childlike–“cute”. Shifting appearance to seek my approval made me more distrustful. It communicated that it was mostly harmless, really, just “hanging out” with me. Thoughts came: How did I know this wasn’t my inner child? After all, it was friendly, etc etc.
I remained skeptical. (And, I constantly have to remind myself I’ve dealt with entities before–both waking and dreaming.) To my relief, one of my female spirit guides was in the room with me. (See Meeting Spirit Guides in Lucid Dreams. Interestingly, the room had turned purple with her presence.) Blue Gollum was coaxed off my back, and he followed her towards a counter and some bar stools. Figuring it couldn’t hurt to protect myself, I started my Harry Potter expello equivalent for removing foreign and negative beings from my vicinity. Blue Gollum started screaming, and in seconds disappeared into fuzzy orange light. My guide remained.
Was that a test? Did I pass? I felt clearer and lighter, but tired. And I was still lucid after it all (achievement unlocked)! The last thing I saw before leaving the dream was my guide smiling at me. After waking up for real, I repeated the space-clearing exercise before falling back asleep.
(F0r my previous experiences like this one, you may wanna read Traveling, Dreaming, and Altered States. For help on how to clear spaces or your aura, try a Google search. There are many approaches.)
I can’t emphasize enough how grateful I remain for my guides, and the teachers who have taught me how to do this work. Some teach that you learn to clear when you’re ready and when you’re meant for this, and it’s a good way to understand such experiences. (Insert Spiderman movie quote about power and responsibility here.)
Whatever your experience, remember:
- You always have access to help. Chances are, it’s already around waiting for definitive instructions from you. And yes, it’s easier to access it when you’ve established a relationship with whatever protective and guiding power(s) that you believe in.
- You alone are also powerful enough. Your commanding will is enough, and it’s even stronger in the absence of fear.
- Whatever you imagined about encountering entities reading this is probably worse than how it actually happens.
- If you’re used to operating out of love or compassion, use this to your advantage: Defend and restore your energy boundaries for the good of all involved. This focus also keeps you out of fear.
- You’re never given anything you cannot handle, but this is up to you to believe and practice.
- You can look at anything as a learning experience that teaches you to become better and stronger. “Fail” or succeed, you’re going to have some great stories to share! (Look, Ma! I put it on my woo blog.)
Last word, and it’s kinda important: Keep away from horror movies, unless you’re watching to laugh. They rarely teach empowerment, if ever. Most focus on fear, helplessness, and the false illusion that one needs to go to exaggerated lengths for protection. The best and easiest protection is keeping your vibes high, and your connection to Spirit strong.
So, whether awake or “awake” in a dream, stay healthy, happy, and in Love.
And share your stories too!
