Tea Time + Market + Update
Well, the flu that followed my spinal realignment has been kicking my ass. The severity of the symptoms and length of the sickness is not something I’ve experienced since childhood. Luckily I’ve been able to cope with this, even getting lifelines when not expecting them at work. Overall, it’s not been a walk in the park, but it’s been interesting watching how this period of extreme difficult physical challenge has been “shrinking” the world that I engage in, and letting me view my life with unprecedented dettachment. Far from alarming, I think this is a clean slate that allows me to evaluate what I really want in my life, and what I don’t need or even miss. There’s also a sense of impending… newness over the horizon, and the dreams have been very symbolic lately.
Katie Gallanti ~ The Wrap Up Phase, Ego Death and the Birth of True Self (at Shift Frequency, thanks Gillian!) has been a touchstone as I slouch through this period. Considering how many times during this flu I’ve felt as if I was liquefying, I feel as if I’m being re-constituted. (That might actually be quite appropriate, considering how much water I’ve been drinking!)
Now that I’m recovering, it’s probably just as well I’m offering my services and art in this FaceBook Market:
On-Line Spiritual/Holistic Market – 18 Sept

- Noam Chomsky: Why Americans Know So Much About Sports But So Little About World Affairs
The gas station attendant who wants to use his mind isn’t going to waste his time on international affairs, because that’s useless; he can’t do anything about it anyhow, and he might learn unpleasant things and even get into trouble. So he might as well do it where it’s fun, and not threatening — professional football or basketball or something like that. But the skills are being used and the understanding is there and the intelligence is there. One of the functions that things like professional sports play, in our society and others, is to offer an area to deflect people’s attention from things that matter, so that the people in power can do what matters without public interference. - Who Are Your Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels?
“Is it true that everyone always has Spirit Guides? I recently had a reading with someone who channelled my deceased friend but could not find any guides or angels.” – Jenny
I think Anna Sayce answers this question really well. Not all intuitives are going to connect with the different “levels” of help that we have equally. Her post answered some of my own questions. For me, I’ve met my guides and deceased loved ones in dreams, but the angels have been more elusive to my sight, even though they’re there. (I can’t complain though; my daughter once provided visual confirmation on them.)

- Chinese parenting posters from 1952 gave insightful advice that still makes plenty of sense today My parents had long both left the mainland by 1952, so that may explain why the advice hasn’t been followed by many Chinese parents I know?
- Graham Hancock: Ancient Aliens, Atlantis & Ayahuasca
I feel that we have all the credentials to be the next lost civilization, yes. If you look at these myths, these traditions from the past, they always implicate humanity in what happened. Take the Atlantis story, or the biblical story of Noah, what you have here is a scenario in which humanity has behaved so wickedly, has become so arrogant, has become so cruel, that we have lost our connection to the universe provoking the universe to respond by punishing us in some way. This story is repeated again and again all around the world. So I can’t help but reflect that if ever there was an arrogant, cruel and debased civilization that would be our civilization today. In mythological terms, therefore, we do indeed look like the next lost civilization.
I’m not preaching doom and gloom, so please don’t make me sound as though I am! That is totally not my view. On the contrary, I don’t think that any of this is inevitable; I think we have the power of choice. I think we can choose a new path; we don’t have to go down the murderous and self-destructive path we’re walking right now. But you know, we don’t need another comet impact or an asteroid or earth-destroying earthquakes to end our civilization, we’re perfectly capable of doing it ourselves. And we’re on our way to doing so, but it doesn’t have to happen. There is a new awakening of consciousness; people all around the world are waking up. They’re refusing to put up with the bullshit of the state and the big corporations and the endless hatred and fear and division that is sown amongst us. People are finding their voices and are waking up to a new consciousness. And I take great hope from that. I feel very positive, actually. - September 2014 Energy Forecast – Turn left at Distress and head toward the Light-Body
I mentioned many months ago that perhaps back in the 2000s this ‘upper expansion’ was what many people were doing. They were learning how to ascend in themselves and go upwards in their energy body. And I feel in the last 4-5 years as a kind of pattern for people, the challenge is to come back down and to bring your light and your compassion and your open heart into the parts of you and the actions that the world now needs. So to go back to the beginning, to those of you who are perhaps coming to the awareness that you are freaking out about things in the outer world, you will be no good to anybody unless you step back into your house for a time.
The way that we desensitize from an over stimulated nervous system is to highly attend to our well being; and for many of you that’s going to involve stepping back for a while.
